Child's
Autopsy
Indicates Murder
Posted 29 October 2008
The Iowa State Medical Examiner's
office Tuesday, Oct. 28, announced that two-year-old Seth Kehoe of
Coralville, whose body was discovered Monday, Oct. 27, near his
family's van in a remote wooded area near Littleton, died of "sharp
force injuries to the neck." The boy's death is now being investigated
as a homicide by law enforcement officials.
Members of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department and Iowa's State
Division of Criminal Investigation continue their work to discover what
happened to cause the death of the boy and injure his mother, Michelle
Kehoe, 35, and brother, Sean Kehoe, 7.
Condition reports on both Michelle and Sean have been unavailable to
the public. Mother and son underwent surgeries in separate hospitals
earlier this week – Michelle in Iowa City and Sean in Waterloo - in
response to their injuries.
Kehoe and the boys had been reported missing by her husband, Eugene
Kehoe, Sunday evening. According to authorities, Michelle left the
family home in Coralville at 11 a.m. Sunday for Sumner but never
arrived at her destination.
A day later, investigators report Michelle appeared at the door of a
rural Littleton residence, shortly before 8 a.m., seeking assistance.
The family van was discovered near Hook and Liner Pond, located just
north of Jesup.
The investigation continues.
