NICC
Offers Electrical Grounding, Bonding Training
Posted 21 October 2008
Northeast Iowa Community College
will be offering a Grounding and Bonding course for electricians on
Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The course will be held in
Room 117a of the Industrial Tech Building on the Calmar campus. This
class applies electrical theory to explain grounding and to clarify the
difference between grounding and bonding.
Of all the regulations contained in the 2008 National Electrical Code,
professional electricians and educators say that Article 250 is the
most misunderstood and misapplied article. Jeff Cooper, NICC electrical
instructor, will teach this course to improve electricians'
understanding of the article. Students must bring their 2008 National
Electrical Code book to class.
This course meets the Iowa Electrical Examining Board's (IEEB)
requirement for licensed electricians to earn eight hours of continuing
education. Electricians who wish to receive credit from the IEEB must
provide their license number at the beginning of class.
To register for Grounding and Bonding #0021830, call NICC at (800)
728-2256, ext. 399. For more information, please call Mary Steen,
continuing education program manager, at ext. 341 or steenm@nicc.edu; or contact Jeff
Cooper, course instructor, at ext. 407 or cooperj@nicc.edu.
