Clayton Ridge Okays Bids for Athletic Complex
Posted 11 August 2008
Members of the Clayton Ridge School
Board have recently approved nine separate bid packages for the
completion of the Stephen D. Shannon Athletic Complex.
Much of the remaining work will be completed with in-kind contributions.
The Stephen D. Shannon Athletic Complex features an eight-lane all
weather track, football field, sports lighting, bleacher seating,
concession stand, restroom facilities, press box storage, off-site
parking, improved handicap accessibility, memorial plaza, donor
recognition, on-site sidewalks and public access for use of the track.
Work is expected to begin yet this summer or early fall with completion
of the complex scheduled for July 2009. The district's football
schedule has been adjusted to play away games throughout 2008 and home
games for most of the season in 2009 during the construction.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be near $1,470,000.
