Driver Escapes Injury in Car/Deer Accident Posted 5 August 2008 The Fayette County Sheriffs Office received a report at about 10 p.m. Sunday night, Aug. 3, of a car/deer accident on Highway 18 west of Rose Road.   Upon further investigation, it was discovered the driver of the 1998 Chevy truck, Sona L. Ellis, 38 of Elkader, was traveling east on Highway 18 when a deer ran into the roadway and struck the vehicle.   Ellis' vehicle sustained $1,800 in damages. No one was injured in the accident.
