Private College Week in Iowa Posted 5 August 2008 Private college's across the state kicked off Iowa private college week yesterday, Monday, Aug. 4. The annual event encourages college-bound students the chance to visit Iowa's 29 non-profit colleges and universities across the state. Students get a chance to tour campuses, meet with instructors and coaches and learn about student life at the individual institutions. By participating in visits this week, students can receive a waiver for application fees at the schools.
